    Winton Photos

I made it to Winton for the Saturday, here are a few thumbnails. Looks like the weather was much better Sunday so I hope someone else was able to get some brighter shots today.

It was a fairly quite meeting attendance wise, but Alex and Marcus looked like they were having a ball. If Alex's in car cameras got the start of his race on Saturday we may see a De Tomaso Pantera on a fairly wild ride across the track and grass just after the start. The other 901 in the photos is the yellow one of Tony Rogers.

    Cheers

...errrr..a quite quiet day, I meant to say.

Here's just a few more non Pcar shots, bar one in the car park. It was amazing to see the skinny tyres on the Austin 7s.

            Thank guys!

The final race of the weekend was a handicap, and I got a cracking start for the first two laps before the Shelby GT350 of George Nittis spewed oil and water all over the racing line. From that point, the track was really slippery and we all had to back off and I had gained enough of a lead to hold on for an outright victory!!!!

Great weekend all round despite a coil change on Friday arvo. Qualified 10th, finished 8th, 9th, 8th, and 1st!!!! And to top it off, I got the FTD for that race! Top 10 weekend!

Will post some of the videos, including the start from both the front and rear of the car from race 1, and the others.... was a little wild at Turn 1 each time!

Also worthy to note that TYP901 members Marcus Hancock and Tony Rogers placed 2nd and 8th in the first regularity, and did pretty well in the other two regularity events as well (19th & 8th, and 5th & 6th). I am not sure how they finished outright, but Marcus and Tony were the two quickest cars all weekend in the post-war regularity with many mentions from the commentary box!

Congrats Alex - what a great result!

I have to say though that if you ever bend that beautiful 911S I think most of us on this board are going to die a thousand deaths! You are a brave man indeed for obviously punting it quite hard :-)

Thanks Craig, plan is not to bend it! Trust me!

Can't wait for Sandown (which was my first Group S event ever last year) as the car is about 5 seconds quicker than it was last year and should provide me with a good indication of where it is at in a larger field.

Hung - I know what you mean. It was on the same corner that I took the Healey's that I was chasing, so I was very cautious through there!!! It basically turned into a competition of who could stay on the track and plenty of people spun at some point as the fluid was on the racing line on the entire track! The officials were not happy about having to put the powder round the whole way!!
