Walter Rohrl im Porsche 911 DVD

Well the Santa stocking was well filled with dvd's, books and the odd model... thanks Fiona.

I am presently watching for the second time the DVD above... Walter Rohrl in a 2.8 RSR replica rally car on a mostly tarmac rally in Germany. One stage is the Nordschlife in reverse in rain and sleet! The video is exclusively in car, and was talked about a bit on the early s site...

I've been lucky enough to ride with the late great Possum Bourne and Cody Crocker (both multiple Australian Rally Champions), and the Rohrl footage merely confirms in my mind that rally drivers have other worldly talents...there are a couple of occasions when the car is completely crossed up on the limiter in 3rd gear, a few occasions in 4th...

Got my dvd from Pitstop bookshop in Perth.. postage to the east coast overnight was another $8...

I'm off to watch it again... Fiona has gone out and I can crank up the amplifier... aaaahh the sound of a 911 with megaphones.... the Zuffenhausen symphony!
