    MOMO recovering

one of my old MOMO steering wheels does need recovering as the original leather is too damaged. Who does this work professionally in Australia?

Hi Merv, talk to Chris in Adelaide, I think he has a friend that does good work on steering wheels.'Cheers

Merv after getting the details from Chris, I used the guy in Adelaide to recover my original 79Sc wheel. Very happy with the job , a good turnaround of about 10 days and he used the soft nappa and original porsche stitching.

Peter the steering wheel guy can do Momo style stitch.
He covered this Villeneuve wheel for me a couple of weeks ago, after I stripped it and repaired the base.

Merv I recently had my original wheel recovered by Gary Blackman in Melbourne. Very happy with result. I have used him for other trimming in the past and he is excellent to deal with. He promptly answers email queries as well.

I have seen on another forum that Gary Blackman has retired

I had one of those Gilles V wheels stolen from my Commodore years ago in Canberra. Had an interesting drive home using multi grips!

Yes Blackman sold his Richmond premises and is retired. However, he is referring people to a guy who used to work for him - Manny from The Trim Shop, who is the guy I use for all my BF Torino seat work and is located in the factories next door to me. His leather work is exceptional and he is always busy. not sure how long a turnaround would be on a steering wheel.

Thanks everyone. I had also heard Blackman's has closed. Chris can you send me your guys contact details. This is an old "stacked" MOMO I have that is not able to be just cleaned and Leatheriqued.

Sending the wheel to Peter May in SA. Had a good chat with him and he seems experienced with these.

Peter May has recovered about six or seven wheels for me now. He does a great job and is fantastic to deal with.

Peter May did a great job. Highly recommended for his skill base and his work ethic. He did a lovely job on one of two old 'stacked' logo MOMO 370's I have. I asked for black stitching even thought they were often with white back in the 60's, but over time the stitching goes to brown or black anyway with use.
