1972 Light weight resto - need tyres

After having this car for 8 years - replacing every wire in it - full bare metal respray - it is starting to come together. This build is all about being light/minimal/sleek.

One simple question - which tyres? As you can see in the pics am running gas burner Mahle wheels (15" x 5.5"). Which brand and size would look most original and handle well?

Yokohama A048 semi slicks. Great in the wet and awesome in the dry.
I love this car, I have a real soft spot for that blue. I hope you get it in the road soon and enjoy it for many years to come.

I should have mentioned that this will only be on the road - semi slicks still a good idea?

Hell yeah, The best road tyre I have ever driven on. I am sure other people will chime in though.

I agree, I just put a set of these on my car. I don't think they qualify for period looking, probably at the bottom of that list. The Avons are supposed to be good.

I have 050's for track tyre and was wearing them out on the road, so bought these (Nankang AR-1) as a similar option at an affordable price.
They cost me less than 300 for the pair on the front of my 72 and are proving to be just the ticket.

If I remember correctly, aren't the 048's a medium compound and the 050's are soft?

Good afternoon all, while we are talking about tyres! I am looking for a 165/HR15 Pirelli Cinturato (CA67) for the spare wheel of the '66 911. I have just ordered what appears to be the last four new tyres in the country and I still need one for the spare.

                            Anyone?
