    4mm tap

Anyone in Melbourne able to tap a 4mm thread? I've had to drill out a small broker screw from one of my rear windows where the latch is fixed to it ... Whilst one screw would probably hold it - I'd prefer it had the two it was meant to have !

Buy a helicoil or similar repair kit will do the trick nicely for the latch screw and I am sure you can get them to suit that size or a tapping kit if you think the hole is not now too big

Any reasonable tap and die set should have a 4mm. That would be worth trying just to clean out the thread. Remember it is probably a brass frame and soft. How much bigger is the new hole than the old one? If not much then a new thread and new matching screws in both holes that matched the original screws should do the trick. Most bolt stores should have some in SS. Either that or Clyde's suggestion about the helicoil.
