    Immobilsers (Melbourne Installation)

I have a 20 year old location immobilser in my SWB. Its a location one, the toggle on my keyring talks to the immobiliser near the ignition switch.

Sooner or later it will fail - and it will probably give me trouble in some inconvenient spot (and time).

What should I get (and from where?)

I have the same Justin and it recently gave me grief. I rewired it iand added a cut off switch. The MSD set up provides a port for that. Taking out the rotor if leaving the car for any time is also useful.

Take it out. It's why you have an insurance policy, and you're not penalised for not having one in a classic...

I dont know about that John
It was a condition of my policy (some 20 or more years ago) which is why i had one fitted. it would be interesting to know if that is still the case.

My policy with Shannons doesn't require one to be fitted.

thats interesting because my policy is with shannons - they must have changed their policies over that time

None of my cars require any form of security system by either Shannons or Ryno insurance. Times have changed I suppose.
