    Tyres

    Hi All
I have read previous topics on tyres and it seems the CN36 is a great tyre but at $475 each they are expensive
My car is an outlaw UK 69S currently running Dunlop R tyres 205 60 15 and its time to go to road tyres
My local tyre man suggests I go with 195 65 15 as there are many options at a third of the price
    What do you think ?
    Cheers Graeme

I went the Vredsteins; classic look at about $200 a pop.

I got the Vereds on the 356 and the Michelin XWX's on the 911. Very pleased with both for comfort and grip.

Go with a classic tyre Graeme. They have better sidewalls, and the cars handle better when cornering. The difference is quite pronounced. Vredesteins are good bang for your buck.

          Depends on your driving style.
Yokohama Advan A048 205/60 are my pick. Medium compound.
Excellent in the wet or dry.
I’ve got D drive (I think that’s what they’re called) tyres on my 69S hot rod now and I slide around a lot.
All depends if you want to slide around going fast (semi -slicks) slide around at an average speed (standard street spec tyres) or slide around slow (cheese cutters).
No sliding needed then bump up to the next level of tyre for your slide ratio.

My 72T is running Yokohama C Drive 2 size 195/65R15 91V. She is out to 2.7 and running S cams. Chased you many a time.

Try ‘Antique Tyres’ for the Vredesteins.

My mate just bought the Dunlops not really a period appearance but fine performance wise.

Shame - the C drive has served me well over the years.

I had c drives - the cn36s (although expensive) perform just as well, but ride significantly better.

And of courser they look period cool.

Like so many things these days - we want modern / good performance, but a period look.
