Best steering wheel size

Maybe a how long is a piece of string question but... what are peoples preferred steering wheel diameters/types for a SWB 911? Mine came with a momo that I thought was too small, but the original 420mm wheel I switched to seems too big.... what would be just right?

A 380 mm would be just right

I prefer my 350mm Prototipo on my swb

It has Cn36's on it, and I felt the steering has become a little lighter since changing from modern Yokohamas.

I like the original 420 leather wheel.
380 is my favourite on the other cars, 350 momo didn't feel right.

I loved the 420mm for the swb .... but I have just put a 380mm "RS" thick grip on and it's awesome too. Looks snappy too.

the 1973T I have has the standard wheel that I reckon is too big. The project car I bought had a 350 MOMO prototipo that i thought was too small,
so I'm glad the RSR replica will have a 380mm wheel - it feels just right.

Thicker RS isn't that thick at all. It needs the extra padding to make it look right I reckon.

And I went from stock plastic "thin" 420mm with no leather.

They are not cheap tho.
Either buy a repop ready to go for $1,600 + / - depending on exchange rate...... or get an original wheel, cover it, buy the hockey puck and leather horn press, buy the hub extension so it clears the dash, as well as the extended horn contact pin, drill an expensive original wheel and fit it all up.

I think mine came in around $1,800 going the long way.

CarPoint.de has a range of repro wheels available which arent bad. I believe they are made in Italy and they have different diameter wheels plus hockey puck horn buttons. depends on how anal you are for originality. In this hobby, originality co$t$.

370-380 let's you see the temp gauge. 350 or smaller is a pain.

Always thought 380 RS wheels were perfect for diameter size........... thickness debatable though

It's a matter of preference .... I had an Rs wheel on my car -which I liked , but I prefer the momo

Sorry digging up an old thread as looking at changing out the 350dia MOMO Prototipo for a 380dia hockey puck style RS wheel.

Does anyone have experience with any of the below or an alternative recommendation? Obviously very different in price point so naturally concerned quality not the same. Would prefer the thick rim of the AASE, 9XXteile, SMC options.

Finally will these fit to the MOMO Boss hub?
