Looking into a 911E MFI , any items I should be checking? Its a AUS delivered car and considering it in lew of a 930 3.0 or C 3.0 both 77. Any items I should look out for would be a great help. I prefer this early car as its light and nibble not fast compared to later 76 77 78 cars compact numbers, but feels and sounds quick enough for me considering speed limitations on our great roads. radar traps. Great forum.

If nothing else, get it taken to Cavaco/Autohaus or similar workshop that knows older 911s and get a PPI done. If the seller doesn't want to, walk away.
Also if you know a body guy, ask if they can take a look at it as well.
As far as the MFI goes, you don't really need to look for anything in particular. Just drive the car and make sure that it pulls pretty hard. If the revs hunt a bit through the rev range it may be a pump issue. Many of these pumps haven't been serviced for all their life, and fall out of calibration. Thankfully there's a good MFI guy in Sydney.

As a 69E owners, I can say that the car will provide reasonable (but not great) torque down low, therefore once they come on cam around 4000rpm that is when it will start to get going.
For me, the pumps almost always need to be properly overhauled, and as much as Peter in NSW is good, personally I would spend the money and send back to Bosch in Germany.
As said above, a good PPI will pick that up.Alex Webster
