Harvey Weidman wiped out by USA fires

For those of you willing and able to help there is a Go Fund me page for Fuchs wheels restoration guru Harvey Weidman and family.

I am sure many of you have been helped by him over the years and he needs our help now

They lost everything in the recent fires, shop, house the lot!!!

I have donated - its not a huge amount, but our US friends showed great concern for us at the beginning of the year - I figured it was only appropriate.

Just donated and shared a story on the Early S forum about visiting Harvey 15 years ago including some pics of him helping me fix the 72 911E Targa I was driving from Portland, OR down to LA. Nice to be able to return the favour to such a generous guy with a genuine love for these cars. Looks like it was his home workshop that got damaged and not his main factory which is fortunate if I am correct.

I see the TYP901 Register has donated to Harvey Weidman which I fully support. Many of our members have benefited from his expertise in restoring their wheels and we cant afford to lose people like this from the industry and the early Porsche community.

Checked on Harvey's Go Fund Me page and over US$20,000 has been added in the last 1 day ! Now at US$ 68,732 with the original goal of $50K.
Seems someone has been sharing this page and Harvey's story amongst the Porsche community and its resulted in a huge surge of donations with an anonymous $5000 from one generous donor.
I'd like to think our TYP901 donation of $500 served to help kickstart the campaign again as it had languished for a week or more and I thought we might not reach the goal.
Harvey and his family must be humbled by the level of support they are receiving worldwide from the Porsche community.
