    67 durant side mirror

I need a replacement small durant side mirror for my 67 912. Made the mistake last year of buying a cheap repro and yep, it’s useless. I clipped the original mirror so it’s no good.

any tips on where to get a decent one? I understand cheap repros are no good, but am I left to buy second hand?

also, it’s flat mirror for drivers side right? Or do people like the convex for drivers side too?

    cheers

I'd be looking for original in usable condition.
can the clipped one be repaired?

I don’t think it could be economically repaired.

will lookout for second hand. Cheers

sorry I got sidetracked. Photos of old bent mirror shown. Don’t know if it’s genuine but it worked.

          cheers

            HI Steve,

Looks like you have had the later style on your car.

67 should have the smaller one like this.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago from Porsche Centre Willoughby for my 68 911L

It did not have sufficent adjustment in it for RHD - I suspect it was a generic ROW one that could be fitted to the right hand side of the car.

If Porsche Classic are now doing ones speciacally for RHD - then thats great.

In the end I removed the new one - and pulled my old one out. Had new mirror cut to size and glued on top of the original mirror ( as it had started to craze)...

                Problem fixed.

Good luck with finding a RHD mirror Steve.

If you can I would repair rebuild your current one and fit a new mirror to it...

Thanks gents. Probably not surprising its not an original mirror given its a converted car. The car is off the road whilst I do carpets (so that'll probably take me 12 months of procrastination) so at least the mirror is not urgent. But I now appreciate that its not necessarily a simple grab a new $50 mirror off whatever.com. Cheers
