Where is the car in in the USA? I know of good shippers on both coasts but they are different companies.

Also have good custom clearance guys here that make the process easy.

Is it the yellow one that you are looking at?

Probably ship out of a port from South Carolina. Best bet is to contact Schumacher Logistics in the USA. They have the ability to transport the car overland as well as the sea shipping. They are good with their quoting. Just be sure to request either consolidated (with other cars) or single (your car gets shipped alone). Prices vary accordingly.

                Michel.

I looked at that car on ebay, seems a very high BIN price on it ?? For a 912 engined car, I think they are asking a bit much. Dont know how the "RS" label gets justified either.

Let us know how you go on the car.

That is the one. Just had a PPI done by Speedwerks in North Carolina. BIN price is still way high and now higher still due to global trading terror. Trying to negotiate a reasonable purchase price as it is a modified albeit nicely done 912. Seller appears genuine and had a 912 Register member check it out for me and concurs.. if no joy i will sit on my hands and wait for an honest well patinated 912 or others 911 project to show up. Preferably with sunroof

is the register member someone they suggested or did you contact them and ask for their opinion?

prices should be coming down given the desire/need for cash (particularly in the USA)... so bargain hard.

there is always this one which is in aust. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....tab%3DWatching

                        Michel,

the fallen Aussie $ will have a significant impact on both the cost of a US car and the shipping. I would be looking locally for one as there seem to be plenty coming up. Whats your budget ?

oh yeah, forgot about the fact that despite prices dropping in the USA (well, i would expect them to anyway), there is the damned exchange rate being at bugger all of nothing...

Michel, the seller had a BIN price of US$ 32,000 which is WAY over the top for what this car is. Do you really have to get this car as I can see its going to cost a lot to: 1/ get it back to Australia, 2/ pay the GST, 3/ fix all the problems with it to get it back to close to original.

Seems this seller had a 993 fetish given the seats and rear engine lid he fitted.

Ask Ed in Adelaide abut the hassles of trying to find the correct seat rails to get seats fitted to his car.

Keep looking, I heard about a cheap 912 bought by the 356 register Prez that cost him about $8000 landed here in Oz ! he found it on The Samba site. They are around. Dont pay top dollar for a 912 thats been messed around with too much.
