    Looking for the original engine..

    Hi all

Relatively new to this forum and it has been great to spend hours and hours reading.. much to the dismay of my partner.

I have a 1969 911E (Aus delivered) which spent most of its life as a tarmac rally car. As such, it doesn’t have its original engine.

    The VIN is 119200858

It is a long shot, but am wondering what techniques people have used or if there is a way to get the original engine number for my car to try find it. Am sure it takes years or can be impossible but would appreciate any advice that people have.

I have the porsche history cert but it does not confirm the engine number, nor the original dealership or the options the car was delivered with.

    Would appreciate any pointers please!

    Cheers
    SM

If you post the vin number someone may have a record of the correct engine number- obtained when Porsche gave out that sort of information

Thank you epilot - unfortunately that one is a slightly later model motor.

I have found out that the motor number is 6292058

Having done a quick google it appears that the last time this appeared on forums was on early 911S - see https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...-Thread/page44

Does anyone here know or can contact this user 'piechamp'?

                Many thanks!
