    How times have changed...

I was sorting thru some old images from some of my visits to California looking for some pics of USA member Kent Moores cars.

I came across these pics of one of R Gruppe member, Paul Kramers cars which also had this window sign.

This car had the infamour "Pink Pig" style livery that had adorned a famous factory 917 race car and Paul had emulated it on his 930 turbo as a replica of a 935 Kremer car.

Its was for sale, but the interesting comment is the price he was selling a couple of 73 RS Carreras for ! And this was back in 2007, so US$179,000 would have turned out to be a reasonably good investment back then !

Paul still runs AutoKennel - his specialist dealership in Costa Mesa. Always worth visiting whenever you are in LA in the Orange County area.

Also found the pic I was looking for being Kent Volkswagon (not sure of the year, but its relatively early. However the engine is certainly not a std 1300 CC one as I have ridden in this car on LA freeways where we blasted past a near new VW beetle at well over 110 MPH. Kent says he loves the look on their faces when he does that.

He's certinly an old hot rodder but now at 84 yrs old, those days are sadly gone. He's looking at how to hotrod his electric wheelchair.......

Our El Presidente, Clyde recently visited with Kent at his Newport Beach home during his current USA trip and myself and son, Tim, will be visiting him in October. Sadly Kent has had to sell his last Porsche a 997 series 2 as he cant get into them any more. But the VeeDub remains in the garage.

Phil, given the bumper style and the reg plate light cover I reckon it's either 66' or '67 Bug and originally with a 1300cc or 1500cc eng depending on year.

Speaking of Bugs, this is our turquoise '63 Beetle. We're second owners having purchased it in 1978. We restored it in 2007 (Mike Tankard ) and it still looks and drives as new even though it's done around 250,000+ miles.
    Will never be sold.
Even though it's now on Victorian club rego, we've retained the original plates as shown.
