I think I have the tachometer and roof off one of the 911 cars.

More than likely hit the red line more that once.

wow - great .... looks to have been taken at the finish in Sydney.

Early shots are Warwick Farm racrcourse in south western suburbs. I think there was also a ceremonial finish in the Sydney CBD. Lots of NSW number plates. I remember being told about the finish at Warwick by a friend of mine in PCNSW - he took a day off work to go out and watch the cars they had been reading about in the papers and hearing about on the radio.

I was going to say that the ceremonial finish was at the Opera House - but relised that in 1968 the Opera House was still under construction then (it wasnt finished until 1973).

Here is a pic of the late Kent Moore (TYP901 member, rhs) presenting Ian Henderson (left) with a Porsche factory poster of one of the rally cars photographed at Werke II in Zuffenhausen.

Ian built that car up from the original shell which Alan Hamilton had purchased after the rally and ran it in rallycross events at Calder Park. The car was lost for some time but found and resurrected back to its original specs. Last I heard, it was displayed at Technoclassica Essen where it sold (I think) for around 600,000 euros.
