Mesh for 911R style rear decklid grill

Anyone know of any suppliers for the expanded mesh you see in the back of 911R clones?

Here's a pic of the mesh Jason used on my 911R which is (presumably) from Autobarn.

Compare it to some pics of the original cars and I note the diamonds on mine have the wrong orientation (sideays instead of vertical).

        But it still looks OK.

Isn't it alloy ? If it's anything like what is under a normal deck lid grille it's alluminium and can probably be found at Capral Aluminium.

got the mesh cut, painted and fitted up over the weekend. just need to trim the bolts. the stainless steel bolts look good against the dark paint and the chrome R hinges.

also made up a set of horn grills.

                  poorly taken pics below.

how'd you do the template for the horn grilles?

any chance you could post photos of them mounted? (just wondering how what bolts you used - with washers?)

                        > how'd you do the template for the horn grilles?

                        1. cut the mesh into a rectangle bigger than the stock grills.
                        2. bend the mesh around the grills to give them a curve when viewed from the side (see pic) you will need to take them off the stock grill and bend them a bit more than the grill as they will spring back a little.
                        3. bolt them (firmly) to the stock grills with big washers under the bolt heads.
                        4. trim off the overhanging edges with some tin snips.

you will also want to sand the edges down as the cut AL is really really sharp (ask me how i know...)

will do. the blue car is not at home at present. i'm hoping to put them on over the weekend and will take some pics then.
