    Rear window latches

    Hello

    Sorry about all the posts.

My window latches are in ordinary shape. Any tips on disassembling them for plating?

    TIA

These are usually always pitted and care is needed not to break them when disassembling. They are a real hens teeth type item and any goods one on ebay get snapped up quickly.

You may have problems removing the hinge pin and not sure if your plater will do them with it still in. The bath will probably eat it away anyway.

Sorry to give you bad news but this is all part and parcel of trying to get an early 911 back into good shape. A point I try to make to prospective buyers of cars who dont place a lot of value on such things like this until they are trying to replace them or fix them.

      Are the pins obtainable?

Thats not a bad price considering the latches are still there. Shipping is a pain (sic) with the glass still in.

I found that with a punch you can drive out the pins, which are infact simply cut down splits. So, off to the plater I go!
