Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally, 30 & 31 May

Anyone else thinking about doing this? Stages look good, sort of like a mini Classic Adelaide. Based on the competition distance, the entry fee is pretty cheap too. My o/s travel commitments will limit my motorsport this year but I think this looks like a fun weekend.

I will be without my regular navigator which means we will be going a little easier than normal...

    Anyone else interested?

ps. If you ever wanted to dip your toe in the tarmac rally water, this looks like a good starter event. Those with non-caged cars can do the touring section - on the same empty closed roads (safer than an early morning swim...)

What not cred for telling you about this!!!

Wish I could do it but it clashes with Winton Historics - if they changed the date I would have a dip for sure.

I've looked at it but Adelaide is mighty cold at that time of year...!

Cold! Cam, Its time to face facts - you've been North a little too long.

Ps. I don't think you would enjoy Targa Tas. Yes, we are on a stage and yes that is snow...

I was watching the WRC Norway round on TV on Sunday.

-20C !!! no wonder the drivers had heated boots etc.

I get grumpy when cold now

john - the old days, back when i thought ducktails were cool.

cam - i saw that too, 180 km/hr on snow!

Ryan, you are one funny bas1ard!

How good are those WRC boys on snow. They use the snow banks as ripple strips and use them to flick the car back into line - just awesome!!

Ryan what was your quote when in the snow and about to pull 5th?

                    AW - I try...

"First is a pic from the "snowing" stage: Mt Arrowsmith. I distinctly remember redlining in 4th , shifting to 5th and thinking what the hell am I doing going this fast in a 30 plus year old car in the snow???"

Now if your background was with forest rallies..... You would know that ducktails are sub zero and very good in the snow.

So Ryan does this mean no Classic Adelaide for you this year?

stew - that info should be in the supp regs which according to the site should be out shortly. it was pretty cheap last year.

"Supplementary Regulations for the 2009 asp / Cut Price Truck Rentals Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally will be available late February 2009"
