    Early 911 Speedster project

As many of you know, I have been thinking about an early 911 speedster project for quite some time. I have some of the parts and, at one stage, even had a 72 targa ready to hook into.

Other stuff (including a monster house reno) got in the way and the targa was sold to a friend. Fast forward to today and Stewart and Alex W's roadster project has got me thinking about it again.

Does anyone know of any abandoned/neglected/unfinished project/forlorn and CHEAP 911's for sale on the quiet? The requirements are:

    RHD (converted OK)
    Targa or cabriolet
pre 73 preferred - but backdating a 73+ is more likely/less sacriligious etc
    cheap
running preferred - but would look at a sitter

Anyhow, please let me know if you hear of anything that fits the bill. This is how I found the first targa - it wasn't officially for sale but it wasn't being used either and the owner was happy to be rid of it.

Alternatively, anyone have any links to any good Japanese used Porsche sites?

Ps. Yes, I know this is a pretty dumb idea...

Ryan, might just know of such a vehicle... can't remember if it was RHD though. I helped a mate import it from NZ 18 months ago. He was drunk eBaying

          It's been sitting ever since.

          I'll send him an email...

                Hi Ryan
what about the red targa on trade me? has been sitting for along time. Probably now bruised enough to accept a more realistic price?

There is also that white coupe on ebay at present in Canberra. Not sure if it is pre 74? Would be happy to check it out for you.

                  hey michel

i've exchanged emails with the guy selling the red targa. might be time to make a cheeky offer - shame blowing a big % of the price just to get it over here though.

thanks for the offer on the coupe, but i'll pass. there is going to be enough funky metal work invloved without having to chop a roof off as well.

you could low-ball offer the current owner of the green targa - likely still for sale by the current owner (although it would pain me if you did cut it up!).

also the container hasn't left NZ yet so there is still time if gou make a deal.

                        cheers Michel

This looks like this would suit perfectly, if you can make sense of what the seller is saying....
