This car has been on the market a while now, inlcluding a couple of runs on eBAY.
The following thread discussed the car back in October:

          Peter,

          get over it.

          Andrew,

Dave Belford had a real good look at this car a while back. best to call him at Classic Road & Track on 03 9329 7222 and I am sure he will give you the skinny on it.

And remember, no Sports Seats any more, they got sold off.

Dare I say it but would have been a great candidate to drop that 2.4MFI engine in to and then you had an awesome correct 73T

Still looks pretty darn good as it is, but only 2.2 motor which is a bit sad and no sports seats and LHD

I reckon its about a $30k US car as it stands so doing all the conversions and discounts for misisng bits etc I think $30K Australian is nearer the mark.

LHD is absolutley no driving issue, but will hurt the re sell unless its sold back to the USA

I have revised the price on carsales down to $62,000 and currently have an interested buyer in Germany, a friend of my contact at Porsche Classic. Seems really good original early 911's are hard to find in Europe and California has pretty well been picked clean when the Euro was so strong against the USD.

This all gets back the discussion thats been had many times on this forum about buying the most complete and original car you can find, rather than accepting something "cheap" and then trying to get it back to original. The engine rebuild discussion (I hope) proved the point about what the CURRENT cost of rebuidling is (not what it masy have cost you 10 years back.

As an example, look up what it will cost yuou to rebuild your house if it were to burn down to the ground . You will be really surprised what current building materials and labour costs. Way more than when you did your reno 15 years ago. Same thing is happening to these old Porsches.

I agree with Ryan in that this car has lost too many of its original parts. If you just want to drive around in an early car, I am sure this will be OK, but if you are looking more for something thats valuable and (potentially) an increasing asset, then originality counts.

                  My $0.02 anyway.

I have that 1969 Irish Green E with 44,000 miles on it that I would part with for in the $60's. Great car and very rare being the first of the long wheels base, MFI etc.

Something to consider if he is looking to spend a little more...
