TECHNO CLASSICA CAR SHOW IN ESSEN GERMANY

Hi everyone form Essen germany,

well I have just spent the last 5 hours at the most amazing classic car show in the world.

I have posted a few pics below , one of an RS built for Peter Porsche, now owned by a german collector, one is of the classic Porsche guys building new door pockets (yes Clyde, new door pockets).

and the other is juts ONE of about 8 classic race cars on just ONE of the multiple displays of these types of cars.

there will be plenty to report on when I get back.


And you cannot beleive the parts available for sale over here plus memorabilia etc, etc etc.

some more pics guys before I head off for another whole day at the show. Have made some excellent contacts including the classic 911 club guys here in germany - very friendly and helpful. A cap and a TYP901 window sticker should make them friends for life.

Porsche has an excellent display of their classic resto work including an early Targa that has been fully acid dipped and the complete resto begun back to original.

There is a guy building new door pockets at the show, one making wiring looms and another rebuilding a gearbox, all amazing stuff.

they say that if you ever get the chance, this show is a must see and I can completely agree. We must organise a club trip here one time.

Guys,

I cannot begin to tell you how overwhelming this show is.

Today I met a guy from England (a collector) who brought a "few of his spare items" along to sell at the show (there are heaps of things to buy here).

His part included a real RS engine and ST engine, RSR gearbox, and wait for it Hugh, the last remaining NOS long tail for a 917 on the planet.

Oh and if you dont have a 917 to fit it to, he had a Rothmans 917 there for sale as well.


Plus he had more original period R, RS and ST seats than i have ever seen anywhere, even at the Porsche factory.

Great photos and 901 heaven on a stick...I am so glad I cant be there as I think my credit card and marriage would be in tatters.

Love the door pocket shot...given my search for front pockets you might want to suggest he works on developing both sets ...he would make a fortune on E Bay.

I second that Andrew. There is temptation, and then there is irresistable temptation. By the look of it, going to this show falls into the latter category.
