Hi everyone, well Clyde arrived OK at LAX and we immediately headed north where the rest of the group graciously waited for us after breakfast at Thousand Oaks on the 101.
Some pics of the car park are attached. There was a good mixture of some beautiful plain and simple cars along with the way out R Gruppe specials.
Once we arrived at our hotel we were pleasantly surprised to see TYp901 member Chris L. pull right in next to us after his epic journey from Colorado. And guess what happened along the way (Andrew P ) ?? Coil went. Seems this is the most likely component to fail as its happened to many other cars on other runs.
Today we are off to Cenepa designs where some amazing machinery awaits.
there is talk of around 140 cars converging on Sonoma and 185 at Saturdays dinner - largest R Gruppe ever.
To say there are some petty amazing cars here is a real understatement. Like a 3.0 Kremer RS (documented) many 2.8 and 2.9 RS style cars, the brown meatwagon (featured in an Excellence article a while back and based upon a 4000 mile 930 that Paul found somewhere.
Clyde and I are feeling a bit diminutive in our little T but are holding our own in the twisty bits. Of course down a freeway entrance ramp behind a 3.0 Kremer RS is a different thing !
But the car is going and handling really well thanks to Scott at Scotts Independent in Anaheim who oversaw all the work I did on the car after acquiring it from Roger Grago and Don Murray.
Hope you like the pics.
