Early Cars at Childrens Hospital Charity Drive

A few early cars attended the Sydney Children's Hospital Charity Drive last weekend.

This is run once a year by PCNSW for the kids, their siblings and their families . 67 cars attended ... 4 or 5 of them 'small bumper cars". I had intended to take Dad's 356... but a late invitation to drive a 95 993 RS Touring was too tempting to resist. Its what the kids would have preferred ... or at least that's how I justified it to myself!

The car was awesome, and my passengers enjoyed the run... leaving from central station ... you could hear the 993 for miles... the bark of the exhaust echoing off the buildings. Everything I have read about these cars was confirmed... they have the spirit of our early cars that's for sure.

Pics below include an R replica, 2 nice 912's (one of which was bought new by writer, photographer, and film maker Jeff Carter) and an RS Replica.

Sound like a great turn out Justin... The white/blue RS looks fantastic!!

I had a ride in that RS tourer with the first owner in QLD - I'm sure it's one of the few that hasn't seen a race track. They are an awesome car.

The 993 RS is a beautiful looking car. Nearly as nice as a 356
