sticking 3rd gear

evening all
before i pulled cd0911 off the road the box would get stuck in 3rd periodically. sometimes got worse as the box warmed up and sometimes it would not be an issue at all. 915 4 speed box. is this a syncro problem or shifter bushes. hope i have more luck with this than with my loom tape question..help

could you drive around it by rev matching on your shifts?

worn synchro's normally just crunch into gear so i'd be leaning towards the bushings/shifter alignment.

another thought is worn gearbox or engine mounts - which again leads to shifter misalignment when the car is under load such as during hard cornering.

If it is getting stuck intermittently it could be a broken or split syncro ring jamming as you try to change gear.
