    Rear deck cover

I have recovered my rear deck panel as the PO had some ugly, large speakers there and also had the the panel recovered in a ribbed kind of vinyl. So, after chasing up the correct vinyl and looking at this great site for a relatively unmolested 1968 car (https://picasaweb.google.com/1059288...eat=directlink ), I am am keen to see any photos of early rear deck panel covers and the use (if any) of the small belt brackets for the 68. This was the post I did on Early 911, but not much feedback at this stage:

The 68 seems to have a bracket on the rear deck - or at least some do. Just checking - how common were these and can I confirm their purpose? Mine are missing and trying to decide whether to re-install them. 290033290034

Thanks Sean. Very helpful. Mine is missing the small brackets. Not sure if I will fit them.
