    A member's car?

    Hi All

Just received a text message with this photo... this 911 is apparently a regular in the Mercy Hospital car park... of course I also asked for more photos!

Will get a business card put under the windscreen wiper!

    Cheers

Not Just a 911, that car is a real Aus del 2.7 RS Carrera

The real thing, I've seen it on the road a few times. Outstanding.

        All correct.

Owner is a good friend and collegue of mine who I have reminded lots of times about typ901.

Original RHD UK car....very original and won a concours with the previous owner. Engine was rebuilt last year so the car was off the road for a while.

Andrew uses his RS as a daily driver....good on him!!

          Great number plate.

NLA_300K would be an up to date variation.

If I had one I would drive it everyday too. Drive the cr@p out of it - you only live once!

Out of curiousity, what's the doc's name?

I dont think the owners name should be published on a public forum out of privacy considerations.

                  Phil,
Just a thought on a double standard we automatically engage in.
Why shouldn't we name the driver? Is it because he is a doctor? If it was anyone elses car we would name them as we have done in the past.
Just a thought as my initial reaction was to also not name them.

                    Privacy is an interesting point.

I was quite careful not to name the doctor or his title. Although, maybe naming the hospital was more than I should have?

This was probably more due to not knowing whether the party concerned would want their name, car and location specified on a public forum, without agreeing to it.

How do other boards (eg Early S) manage this on cars sighted?

                    Cheers

                      Agreed Rich,
We need to be careful. It would be a bit ironic if the person in question complained about privacy when he drives around every day in a yellow RS with personalised number plates and parks it in a visible car park.

I think Erwin's enquiry was because they are in the same proffesion.
Thinking of a RS next Erwin?

I was mainly concerned about the fact these are very rare and expensive cars and some people are keen to remain as annonymous as possible.

The plates on the car, being NLA, refer to the classic porsche parts dept response of "No longer available". Nothing to do with the owners initials.

If the gentlemen wants it to be known then he will... end of story.

If he wishes to remain anonymous then that should be respected.

Actually, you're right, probably best not to post his name on a public forum like this, although I thought this forum was only accessible by members. But even then, a doctor is usually a private person who won't appreciate it.

I am in the same profession and I do know people working at that hospital - doubt I would know this chap personally - like I posted, it was out of curiousity. But curiousity did kill that cat...

Easy to say I would drive one everyday, but the insurance and the stress would kill me!
