    New member intorduction

    Hi All,

I'm new to the whole Porsche thing as of Friday following the purchase of a 1966 912. The car is converted (not that the owner knew) and is a roller.
Was originally irish green, delivered with tinted windows, door mirror, 3 gauge dash and timber steering wheel. Is a Karmann body.

It's in QLD, and will be over there for a while until I make the space necessary to commence a build (I'm in Perth).

Cam Arnott (a mate from my Darwin days) introduced me to the 901 register, and has been on my back about the 901 cars for a while.

For years I've played with volksies, currently owning a sweet 1956 beetle running a sweet 2276cc aircooled with twin 48 DRLA tri jet carbs, 4 wheel discs and fuch wheels.

I've also built (and still own) an insanely modified 68 beetle which has a host of modifications including a porsche g50 transaxle, Subaru EJ20T engine, custom brakes which utilise 944 turbo brembos etc.

The lust for an early swb car which I can outlaw should see a cool car evolve. Time to start planning and researching before plunging into the project...

Forgot to include this aircooled engine I conceived in Darwin.
2276 vw (all aftermarket) running EFI and porsche cooling.
Good for around 200hp at the flywheel...

Would be great in a 912, but would rather the flat 6 sound.

      Mad skills Reuben!

With your four-banger knowledge I'd definitely be building a sleeper 912 to shame some 911s

Welcome, as a fellow Aussieveedubber member & 912 owner I believe you have found the right path….ha ha….a quick 912 is a completely different driving experience to a 911 & with your engineering skills I would stick with the flat 4 !!!

                    LOVE the 56'….

                    Cheers
