    My SWB Racer

So as you know, I bought two 68 cars in a deal last year and moved one along to fund the build on the other...

I've been quietly plugging away and just doing stuff as I've felt like it and as finances have allowed. The intention for this car is to keep it close to stock but log booked for Group Sb. This means it must have a CAMS ROPS and a few other non stock things, but I've managed to keep most of it reversible or bolt on. The car is a US delivered 68L meaning it's a full S package sans the *408####* S engine that the USA did not allow in that year. It means there are quite a lot of 'one year only' components such as rare ventilated rear brakes (only year a SWB car got them), 904 LSD, and rare interior pieces.

Every suspension piece has been powder coated, plated or painted, and all new bushes/rubbers/seals used. The car should drive better than new.

Anyway, I thought some of you might like to see how it's progressing...

A task I completed today was to rebuild those rare brakes...

I used Eastcoast Plating here in Brisbane and they did an excellent job. They were also able to restore the rare 7mm Ribe fasteners using a black zinc process.

                            Hi Harry

I was intending on getting it into regularity at Phillip Island this year, but in all honestly it's not going to happen this coming year. I'm spending my money on Rennsport in the States

Got a little time in the garage to myself today. I got the rear left spring plate and swing arm all fitted up. Fuchs for the road and minilites for track work...
