    Welcome Craig Handley

Carig is another addition to the NSW gang we might have to do a Vic v NSW count soon!!!

Craig has a 69E with some extra mumbo under the rear lid a bit of an R Gruppe car you could say.

Post some pics and tell the troops what you have Craig. Craig also wins the award for the fastest responder to an invitation to join the Forum. Well done.

            Hey guys,

I am currently in the process of building the car, and will post some pics soon. It's the 69 911E shell that Alex Webster had for sale - I bought it less engine / gearbox and wheels. I'm pulling all the mechanicals / suspension / brakes from a 911SC and transplanting into the 69. A few goodies along the way, including all poly bushes, Bilstein sports, Big sways, and Webers. I also have an RS carpet set and door panels, and Momo seats. The 69 already had RS flares and spoilers. I'm doing my best to recondition every part like new as it comes off the SC to go onto the 69 ( much nicer to work on that way ! ), and am hoping I'm on the road in about two months.. ( I hope they're not famous last words, but so far it's progressing rapidly ).

If anyone knows a Porsche friendly engineer in NSW, I'd be happy to hear about it too.

Will post some pics this week...

            Craig H.

That sounds like a great project. I had thoughts of doing with with a 356 shell.

Here's a few pics of the progress of my project..

For those that were asking, I paid $608US for the RS door panels and carpet set landed on my door, from Appbiz in the USA. I thought their service was 'OK' - it took a few emails to actually get the product shipped after I had paid. I haven't even opened the boxes yet to determine the quality.

Craig, is the carpet set for a RHD car ?

How did the suspension off the later car fit into the early body ? Any issues ?

Did you also use the larger brake master cylinder off the later car to suit the bigger brakes ? Any issues fitting this ??

The front calipers are straight off the 911SC, and the rotors are stock sized cross drilled that I purchased for the SC while in the USA. I also have a set of Wilwood 4 piston calipers that I intend to fit, but I'll wait until the car is registered and on the road before doing this.

No problems at all with fitting the later suspension. I bit of elongating of the front mounting hole of the front A Arm mount cover plate was required, but pretty much everything else bolted straight up.

I have just run into a little problem where the aftermarket 20mm front through body sway bar has a different square drive diameter to stock, so I'm on the hunt for a suitable actuating lever.

The carpet set is RHD ( well, was spec'ed as RHD - I should really open it up and check.. Bob from Appbiz certainly said he had RHD sets in stock ).

                        Craig H

Just FYI, here's a spec list of my car.

                        Front and rear 20mm sways
Steering rack from 911SC and turbo tie-rods.
