    They're still out there

I was contacted early this week by a friend who had just purchased a scuderia veloce lindfield delivered 911e targa sporto. delivered in November 73 to a chap from Orange Nsw. It was originally sepia and is essentially all there, but currently painted red.

It hasn't been driven for 2 years but has come with a comprehensive maintenance file.

It was found salted away in Paddington, Sydney

Plan is to clean the car up reaping sepia, and tidy the interior, as it has later seats.

I wonder how many more are out there waiting to be discovered?

The car after an initial wash..... rust in the usual places but very sound. Comprehensive maintenance records.

Matching numbers and the last owner had it for 30 years.... found under an enclosed carport in inner-city Paddington.

          Will return to sepia

Perhaps we should all buy camera equipped drones and start over flying suburbs to hunt cars in back yards. Although this one under a carport would probably not have been picked up.

I reckon there are tens of them squirrelled away in 4 car garages in Wahroonga and Killara and all up and down Sydney's North Shore ...

I lived down the road from Scuds at Lindfield from 1977 to 1992 and used to pass by twice a day to and from school and collect all the new Porsche brochures as they came out ... had stacks of them for 80's cars, but of course theyre 'll gone now...

Space saver spare so maybe 85 litre tank in there. I had a 73E Aussie car that had all std S spec in it including the tank so maybe.....

My targa has an 85ltr tank and s-spec as well. Must have been a standard spec for Aussie delivered 73 E's.

Yes I wonder how many more there are Ben?

A 67s in the inner west found me about 6 months ago, and it's now happily homed with a new and very appreciative owner.
