Can anyone identify these for me?

    Hi all,

The car has been running like a pogo stick lately and I think the idle circuit has a blockage somewhere as the idle jets are clean as can be.

Anyway I pulled the carbies off today as they need a clean out and I have some bigger venturis etc coming to make the old girl a bit faster (!), and thought I'd ask what the items in the photos are seing as they don't appear to have a function on my car.

Anyone know what the plug looking thing and the two senders are for?

    Cheers

Aw come on not even a guess?

The senders are both near the firewall and the 'plug' looking thing also......

the red thing is the oil pressure switch

the thing next to it (with the black cap) is the thermostat - but its normally just a plain block off plate

      no idea on the plug

If you are referring to the red unit in the second shot, from memory it’s the oil temp sensor. Not sure what the plug is for in the first shot but you could probably work it out from the colour of the wires leading into it relative to the wiring diagram.

The wiring looms on these cars appear to be fairly generic across a lot of the model / year range – so any option you car wasn’t equipped with may well have a corresponding unused plug / connector.

Looks like I stand corrected – the temp sensor looks the same but is in a different spot.
