What I was going to say was, I have had a build underway in South Africa for the last 18 months with www.dutchmann.co.za and it's getting close now. Donor is a RHD 1969T, with non matching but period correct 2.4 engine. The donor came with mfi and after some investigation it was found to be from a 73RS, quite a delight. Engine taken out to 2.7 with RS spec. I will be heading over to j'berg for first time shortly for a final fitting, then car shipped to Perth not long after. And I'm lovin the colour.

Very nice Peter. Cheaper labour there, than here!

Dutchmann certainly have a huge following in South Africa and growing around the world.

Peter has been keeping me up to date with his Dutchmann build (and I've seen a few sneak peek build pics along the way), it's going to be a cracking car...

Thanks Merv. Nothing cheap about air cooled labour anywhere, unfortunately

I looked at the Dutchman website. Cant say I am in love with their wheels choice, however I am sure they have plenty of problems importing various parts for these cars due to the currency problems in RSA.

It must limit their choices of what they have available when trying to build up these cars and wheels and seats are obvious areas where the cars dont look quite right.

An driving in the desert would give Clyde a heart attack with all that dust getting into every nook and cranny in the car.

Thanks for the upbeat feedback Phil, I'm going to give them a call and cancel my order.

Big Porsche culture over there I am told, and plenty of original parts available. Not to worry Phil I had already ordered the car with original Fuchs, but I can't help you with the seats. The ones you see are coming with the car. I have other cars that are 100% original, I promise.
