Retro fitting opening Quarter windows question

I Have installed one window so far and am very happy with the fit. I still need the correct lower trim piece from SierraMadre to arrive to complete it.
I currently have M5 Bolts holding the frame into the B pillar but am unsure of what the "correct" head should be on the bolt. There is little room to counter sink anything there.... so is it normal to have the head of the bolts or screw protruding through the lining when the lining is replaced?
Pictures could be helpful. Thanks in advance

    Mick,

The head of the screw should be visible.....

The factory manual upto 71 inclusive, shows a cheese head (alan key) screws, with an appropriate sized washer.

I'd replace the rubber seals on those 1/4 windows, as they were pretty hard IMO and its an area that loves to leak.

I'll snap a photo later today, if that helps?

Thanks Tony. Overall I'm very happy with the fit. If you could post a photo that would be great.
Im considering putting one or two washes under the rear latch where it is attached to the body just to allow the window to pull in an extra millimetre or so, but that is mainly for cosmetic reasons. I'll post some photos when i'm done. Super happy to be putting this option on my car. Thanks again Tony for all your help, and the windows.

I'm out at the moment but I'll get a photo tonight.....

There is a plastic washer that goes under the bracket on the hinge that needs to be fitted between the latch and the body, if that makes sense??

Both Windows in Now, but need a bit of fettling. Interestingly there is a subtle difference in the gap between the door trim and the opening window on each side. The Right hand side appears perfect , while the Left hand side is a bit close. (See photos). The Metal does not touch but the rubber fowls the door a little as its to far forward .
Is it common practice to "bend" the hinges a little to gain the right spacing? Or is there another method to gain the right gaps?

                Mick,

That's your window trim on your door that needs adjustment.

Check the gap around the door opening, your going to need to adjust it.

If you look closely at the photos you can see that the door trim on the one you're having the problem with, that the trim is sitting further back where it leaves the top of the door.

I take it you don't have a workshop manual??

There's a specific order to do up the window to maintain the gap, and ensure that you can still get the window up at the end of it.

Thanks Tony. Managed to move the window frame a few extra mm on the door. All sorted now and shuts and seals beautifully.
