water jet blasting fans & cosmolene

making fans and fan housings pretty. I can glass bead and then gibbs.

Though has anyone had success with water blasting, as I have an opportunity to use this.

Also anyone after glass bead or water blasting used cosmolene?

Im keen to avoid over restoring.

    thanks Michel

For those interested or considering water vapour blasting, Had fan, ring and runners on my 79 water vapour blasted worked a treat

I am not an expert but: I think it has come up a treat. How much does a kit cost and how does it work! I n other words can I do it cheaply.

What's going on at the tips of the blades? Is that corrosion or repairs? I ask because mine looks similar but has a coat of cheap silver paint on top. Which made me think it could be paint runs but your stripped one looks the same.

Casting marks in the Magnesium, they pretty much all have them that I've seen.

The gear is not worth trying to buy unless you intend to do a lot! Cheaper to send out. I like it more than media blasting in this instance as it still leaves all the marks of time

Should have read this before I spent way too much time with wet & dry and good old fashioned elbow grease

now you could go media blast the shiny thing to even it out. Though if you do mask off the centre section.

having half (assed) polished a fan by hand before , hat off to you.
