    Gauge Parts

    Hi Guys

Just finished pulling my gauges apart as they had be redone with white faces.
I see there are a few places to get them restored and refaced which is all good.

The tank and temp gauges are missing the little silver button from the centre.
Does anyone know if they can be purchased from anywhere as I don't want to get them refurbed without them.

Or am I just better off hunting down some unmolested ones.

    Hi Ash

They sound like gauges off a later model (post 73). Do they have part numbers on them?

    Cheers

      Hi Adam
      Checked on the PET
I think you are right with the oil pressure temp gauge

The tank oil level one seems to be right year 911 641 202 00

Actually after checking I think they are both correct part numbers for 71e if I am reading it correctly

From what I can find, the one I have is for a sporto (minus the silver thing in the middle)

Can someone confirm if this is the correct one for a non sporto E

Post a photo of your actual gauges and part numbers, and we can tell you what you actually have.

                  Hi Ash

This sounds strange - why would the PO pull the gauge apart to remove the silver piece when all the other gauges have it?

                  Cheers

There should also be a date stamp on the gauges too. That'll assist..

It sounds like you have later gauges fitted into the car, but as Scotty suggests part numbers will help us solve your delemer.

Having said that, if you are getting your gauges restored by someone like NHS I'm positive they'll be able to add a dot for you.

                        Part numbers check out ok
When I got the car it had a later tacho and electronic later speedo.
All gauges had all been redone with white faces.
Looks to me that the silver dots were removed temp and fuel gauges to make them look newer.

Sounds like you might be right.

As I said above if you're getting them restored, North Hollywood Speedometer should be able to restore your 'dots' to their former glory.

                              Hi Ash

I have a speedo with Howard Instruments.

I believe the quality of work is good however I would advise that you are specific in your request. For example they left my needle white, did not return to orange, and forgot to convert the speedo from MPH to KPH. They have taken it back and are fixing it.

I know others on the forum have used them too.

                              Cheers
