    Sports Purposes Seats

I have finally taken possession of the seats for my '65 project.
Things have been long and drawn out because I had to convince someone to make a Black/white/blue pepita fabric first of all and then I had to find someone to make the seats the way that I wanted them done.

A big thanks to Stefan at GTS Classics for making it an easy process and for responding almost straight away to any query that I had.

They are basically a modern take on the Sports Purpose seats available from Porsche in 1966.
I have included some pictures of the process to show that the GRP shell is cut away in the base to allow for webbing to create a more comfortable seat.
I have had the bolsters done in leather.
I also had the brass rivets in the back just because I like the look, I plan to run the driver seat as fixed and to fit a tilt base to the passenger seat for rear access.

They will have to hide inside for a while now.

Brilliant Chris. They will need covers to keep the 'jean burn ' off!

They are the bomb. At least you can pull up a seat now and strum the Gibson.

                        Similar

                        Hi Chris,
My favourite seats. I bought some pretty similar from Vintage seats a few years ago. Here's a few photos of them installed.

I was also going to run the passenger seat with a tilt but while I was making up my mind I instead ran the base mounts back to front. This gives more than enough room to enter the back when it is slide fully forward. The fully back position is perfect for most passengers too. You can see it's in line with my driving position when fully back.
