Do I have the wrong struts?

I'm back with more questions for the gurus

So it's pretty obvious I have no idea, here's my issue.
I have boxter brakes and 3.2 rotors, I think.
When test fitting the rim it rubs on the bottom of the strut.
I do realise that when the front end is back in the car the wishbone will sit more horizontal than what it currently is however I can't see that it will increase the clearance between the inside of the rim and the bottom of the strut by more than a couple of mm unless i'm looking at it all wrong.

So question one is what should the approx. clearance be (15"wheels)?

Would the struts have been changed to accommodate these brakes?
I don't know how to ID them although the caliper mounting holes are 90mm apart if that helps.

    Thanks again.

i just stuck my head under the race car and the gap from the strut bottom to the rim is about 18mm, S calipers and 15' fuchs

I can only go on the photos posted, are the struts standard? I'm guessing they're raised going on the big bump-steer spacers. If the spindle has been raised then you will indeed be reducing the potential clearance of the A-arm and the bottom of a 15" rim. If it is only a small amount, you could machine some metal off the rim. You're going to have to wait until it's all set up and on the ground before you'll know for sure.

Thanks for the measurement Craig, I assume that is standard.

I didn't think of the spindles being raised. After doing some reading on Pelican I think you are on the money John.Base on Craig's measurement i'm guessing they must have been raised 18-20mm.
What would acceptable clearance be between strut bottom and rim?

Why not just stick a jack under the mounted rim? Jack it up until it is level?
Obviously make sure it doesn't come off the jacks on the other side.

Small spacers will solve the problem.

just tried it with a 6mm spacer I had laying around and it clears by about 1mm which will hopefully increase a little when the front end is back in the car and wheels on the ground.

Will such a small clearance and 6mm spacers cause any issues or should I be looking to change struts for standard?
I don't really want to change to 16" repro wheels as i've just had the 15s restored

It's a fixed distance - so long as you get it to clear, it'll be fine.

One more check is the fuchs(?) you're using... There was different back spacing on 944 fuchs.

Is there a part number stamped on the struts anywhere?

Wow, I didnt see the pictures...,..serious set up with those raised spindles, and thats as many bump stop spacers as I've ever seen.
I dont think whoever engineered this had 15" wheels in mind. Also looking at how long the wheel studs are almost suggests wheel spacers.

That set up is made to run the car much lower than spec (euro or US). Won't work IMO.

So I guess I should put a WTB for some standard struts then and move this setup on
