Help pls - Dashboard knee pad trim fixings

Can anyone tell me whether there is meant to be a screw in the end of the knee pad in my 70S? There's a matching hole in the dash, not sure whether that's factory or whether someone has drilled it, and/or if there's meant to be something in it to screw in to? Can't imagine there's meant to be a screw big enough to screw straight in to it?

Looked at the parts Katalog but it doesn't list any screws or fittings.

Genuine Porsche parts suggests no http://www.stoddard.com/901552036277ae.html

    As do Lakewell's repros https://www.lakewell.com/en/porsche/...sche-911-69-85

And no sign of the screws on this car http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...s/1851255.html
