    Eastern Creek 20 August

I slipped out to Eastern Creek on a killer Sydney winter morning for the PCNSW supersprint day Justin has been promoting, just for a perv and it was most enjoyable. There was some out-there machinery in pit lane(including Nick and his Dads GT3RS and new 3.0 Carrera).

There were quite a lot a longhoods running, and surprisingly few late model high spec cars. Lots of space between cars on the track. It looked like a lot of fun.

But one car had my old Typ901 eyeballs hangin' out. Justin introduced me to the single-since-brand-effing-spanking-new owner. He was saying he had ordered a new 73S for $15K and then was informed that he could have this new, other, higher spec model, for...errr...$17K. So he said OK, and he duly purchased and still owns this bloody lovely, sexy, original Oz delivered one owner RHD 2.7RS, that he obviously loves and drives and would never sell.

He was happy for me to take a few snaps, so here they are for your viewing pleasure. Porsche-porn.

        hey tony

i've raced lloyd in this car - it is absolutely nerve-wracking dicing with it and thinking "if i get this wrong, i'll wreck a one owner, aussie delivered RS - and most of the p-car fraternity will never speak to me again!"

          Nice work Tony.

Good to see it being used in a 'sporting' manner!

Yes I think that was what really impressed me. It is certainly no garage queen. The fact that it gets used regularly - three or four rallies pa, plus Club days is really great isnt it. It just blew me away, sure it may be a bit tatty around the edges and in need of a clean, but its sheer sense of authenticity just glows through. The owner knows what it is worth but he seems to just regard it as his "car" (it was his everyday for over 20 years) and he is just going to continue to enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Fantastic.

              Tony, great pics,

I spent Saturday 'pushing' my T every time I stopped, I'd say the batteries are in dire need of replacement.

It would have been nice to be there.

Far be it for any of us to even think about critiquing a car that is used at such levels....

I think it would be a nice state of mind to juts drive an RS as intended and not give too hoots about the cleaning and the little seemingly annoying items that we may pick up.
