I just received this note from Spencer and Lynda Harrison, who look after my 911L.
A really wise move I think, and I think all of the parties should be congratulated for their vision and committment to the Victorian Classic Porsche scene.
Thank you for your continued support over the years.
Lynda and I are very excited to announce that as of 1st October ‘Harrisons RRR’ is merging with Porsche race engineering specialist ‘Werks Garage’.
‘Werks Garage’ is owned and operated by Shaun Cairns and specialises in the preparation and support of many race and rally Porsches including transport,
track and rally support.
The name Cairns is synonymous with Porsche in Australia for as long as Porsche’s have been gracing our shores.
Shaun Cairns grew up in his father George Cairns’ Porsche workshop just around the corner in Ferntree Gully. Shaun followed his passion for racing,
working with professional race teams on all manner of top end machinery, spending time with leading Carrera Cup team Sonic before, first, coming back to
head the Cairns workshop, then branching out to specialise in the preparation and support of racing Porsches.
The combined business will be called ‘Werks RRR’. It will operate from the current ‘Werks’ facility five minutes down the road at 1/9 Newcastle Road, Bayswater.
‘Werks RRR’ is retaining our current workshop at Ferntree Gully for the storage of customer cars.
‘Werks RRR’ will be a complete service for all makes of Porsche encompassing Road cars, Restoration and all Race and Rally requirements
(maybe we should have called it Werks RRRRR!).
We believe that bringing the two businesses together allows us to provide a more complete service to all our customers, continuing to look after all the
current cars in exactly the same professional manner we currently provide but also with the capacity to take on more in the future.
