    Substitute 'damping mat'

I've just found out that Porsche no longer supplies the 'damping mat', which is the black soundproofing mat that goes inside the cabin on top of the floor.

Has anybody found a suitable substitute for the factory damping mat?

I think most of us have just used Dynamat...

Yes Scott-Dynamat. The old 356 still has horsehair fibre in many places. I reckon that is hard to get these days too.

My trimmer has recommended 'rattle trap' as a more affordable alternative to dynamat.
I believe it is available in black but will come back to you on that.

I'd really like to get something with a black finish. Dynamat is a great product, but the exposed side looks way to blingey for me...

It's not that hard Merv, old horses and scissors are easy to come by

Wurth make a tar matting similar to the origional found in the foot wheel, near the wheel arch. Yes it's black.
