    Tarmac Rally Question

    Guys

    Classic Adelaide preparation.

Just wondering how tough you guys have found the scruteneers to be in relation to oil leaks? Also are they tougher on cars in Competition more than Touring? I know we will have some work to do, just not sure how much....

Lastly does anyone know if you need to do an engine drop to replace the crankshaft pulley seal?

    Cheers
    Cam Arnott

competition is scrutineered more heavily than touring.

however, they know they're dealing with old cars and if its a really slow leak or some weeping you should be ok. you see quite a few people duck under their cars just prior to them going on the hoist to wipe things down.

if its a real leak or constant drip then i wouldn't take the chance. also, you don't want to present with an engine covered in oil crud either.

don't know wrt dropping the engine. more than likely though - it seems step 1 to nearly all 911 work is dropping the engine...

      Thanks Ryan

Another question, are the old fashioned rubber tie downs for bonnets permitted by CAMS these days? Or is it the steel pin type only?

      Thanks
