    Silver 72T arrives

Just in time for Christmas, Santa (finally) dropped off the 20 ft container with my 72 911T coupe in it (plus Clyde wheels).

With any luck, quarantine will clear it tomorrow ready for pick up and home in time for Christmas.

last time I saw this car, Clyde was driving it away fromm San Fransisco airport that fateful day. Thanks to TYP901 members Kent Moore and Clyde for helping get the car down to LA, then subsequently loaded into the container at Long Beach. What a drama that was just getting a reliable shipping agent organised.

For those thinking of bringing in a californian car in a 20 footer, theres not much change from $6 - $6.5K for the shipping/handling these days. GST is on top of that.

Interesting historic race car parked next to mine at the depot - just returned from Goodwood Festival of Speed. Guy said it was a Maybach ???

                  Phil

You lucky b%^&*$!!! I hope Santa is that generous when he is trying to find our chimney (that only leads into the pot belly heater in the back yard)...

Can't wait to see it on a run early in the new year.

                  Merry Christmas to all.

                  Cheers

                      Peter,

I think cars like this are worth hanging onto as they are only going up in value. I want to give this car a really good clean up and refurbish so it may take some time. Not sure what I will do with it until I get the targa plans decided.

I drove this car halk way from LA to Santa Rosa (North of San Francisco) for quite a bit during the R Gruppe meeting Phil and I wnt to and then all the way back to about 1 hour Sth of LA. Probably did over 1500kn at the wheel that week.

Apart form the occassional loud backfire, loud enough to have the terrorist panickers ducking for cover, it ran like a dream and I wasn't going slowly at any stage.

Its fairly original and seems rust free and without any major issues so will make a real nice driver or a great base for a tidy up to excellent condition.

I too would sell the Targa Phil and keep this baby

Merry Xmas to everyone my presenmt still in North Pole well Nothern Canada at least so not too far away!!!!!!
