    72T popped up on CarSales

    No affiliation:

At $65K this is probably more a candidate for someone to resurrect. Although they do admit the MFI is missing. The car was probably a 72 T/E model out of the US so keeping the carbs is acceptable out here. But it needs front and rear guards and bumpers, a long hood plus probably a set of 15" wheels.

Not sure the economics really work. Reckon it's a $100k+ job to get that car back to its original 72T/E LHD condition . . . then with the history of being buggered about would struggle to get $165k for it

Why the need to go back to LHD? If the RHD conversion is reasonable, I cant see $100K of work, although it depends on who does it.

No connection but this LHD to RHD T/E still has MFI (according to ad) at $55k:

            Hi mate, welcome!
            It has been discussed here;

Would you put it back together yourself?
I reckon it would be a beauty finished properly!
            Ben.

I doubt it would be worth $200K once finished. Seller is pretty optimistic on asking price. Probably worth inspecting and ensuring all bits are there then negotiating down. However if you are a newbie to early 911's it will be very hard to know if all the right bits are indeed present. Also depends a lot on how mechanically minded you are and also on how well the existing bodywork has been done.

I rang him on behalf of a friend - all big ticket items are there.
Motor built out to 2.4 by Mark Poole and then refreshed by Bob Whymms (same time he re-built gearbox) and not been run since. Heaps of receipts.
                  Original service books!
All new exterior trim / deco / rubbers - mostly genuine Porsche including front and rear turn signals ....
He bought new fenders and doors from Bob before repainting - has all the original stuff to go with it.
Sounds like the interior needs to be completely redone / new windscreen.

He admitted there will be stuff missing, but sounds like if you have the space, time and expertise, you could get it together for under $80k.

Sounded like he wanted it gone too ....

Moderators, the post above probably needs to get moved across to the other thread.
