John is right Mike. There are also things that you can do personally and some things that you can't do. That helps determine the nature of the car you buy. Motor work is a specialist business in my book (although I could be persuaded ... ) but suspension, interior and electrical stuff is easy. Body work is the hardest. Just work within your limits and budget to spend some extra dollars on the necessaries to get it on the road. I have found my car one of the easiest to work on that I have ever had, given the support and parts that I have been able to find. They are quite simple cars in reality, particularly the early ones.

Having said that Paul Ford's backdated SC is a compelling car for its usability.

        Hi Guys,

As a new member it's time to confess...
I'm the guy who bought this 911T from Andrew.

Had looked at a couple of others, including a rolling shell only for restoration.

This seems to be pretty solid. No major rust that I have found...yet. Interior is excellent and paint work is good. Engine is a 2.2 not the original 2.4 and does need some work.
But I'm thinking I will try and find a 2.4 or maybe and 3 from an SC to use instead for a while.

I was doing some research and came across this forum where you were talking about my car. So decided to join. Seems like there is a lot of knowledge here so look forward to learning from you guys.

        Kind regards,

        Chris

              Hi Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Nice to be part of the community

I'll keep studying up in books and using the search on this forum and PP.

Gradually putting together a plan for my 911T, but will post more specific questions once it's clear.

              Thanks again,

              Chris

                Hi

Chris, hi - welcome to a fellow Taswegian - I live in Melbourne now but get down a couple of times a year. Unfortunately all I'll have to follow you around in down there would be a MK 10 Jag!

                Cheers

                    Hi all

Assuming this is the same car Porsche 911 T now up for sale without the engine.

Reads that the seller has made multiple attempts to move this car on.

                    Did anyone else inspect it?

Pretty sure the original car in this thread is the one I assisted in sourcing (pastel blue Aussie delivery with a 2.7 CIS engine). That car is still with the owner, so this appears to be a different car...

                        Hi John

Original car in this thread was LHD.

                        Cheers

                            Hi Chris

Unfortunately not in a position to buy another car however am intrigued to see what a non matchching LHD with no engine will go for.

Enjoy Singapore - if you aren't aware there a couple of TYP901 members there.

Looks like price is edging up - GLWS.

                            Cheers
