Bodywork has been done and the engine has been rebuilt. Just need to change carpets, rear seats and front door panels.

Maybe a dry ice blast, engine tinware, suspension repaint, zinc plating, rechrome a few bits

Just back in phone range now in the NT. Brilliant Peter. Very pleased for you. Looks a great car. Well done on the door panels. Original is best. Let me know if I can help further. +1 on the 68 sub-register.

                  Hi Mick
It arrived the week before Christmas so we didn't get a chance to get a RWC. It was delivered straight to Kane's workshop so I've only seen it a couple of times. I'll take a few photos and post them after the holidays.

Be interested in what the extra costs added up to on top of the actual sale costs Peter if you were open to sharing.

Given all the bits he is buying quite a bit..... plus the shipping end extras from customs and their mates

                          Hi Mitchell
Im away at the moment but happy to share what the costs are when I get back.
Clyde, I have been buying quite a few parts for it (early S has become my best friend), now this is the part when you say 'I told you so'. Maybe I'm a fussy pr$&k but the car was not what I expected or as described even after I had a PPI done in the U.K. The 68 will go in for a rotisserie full bare metal respray next month, then that means engine out, new trim, headlights, tail lights and the list goes on and on. I'll start a thread when the resto starts.

                            Pete,
I'm nearly (ish) done on a nut and bolt resto of a '68 and happy to share resources / contacts if you need.
                            Ben.

That is terrible news Peter, I know that you are fussy, but for there to be such a difference between expectation and the actual means something was wrong.

Maybe jumping on a plane is the best thing to do when the stakes are high.?

If i can help in any way please let me know.

Yes Chris may have been a cheaper option flying to the UK. I considered flipping it but I'll keep it and have some fun restoring it. I may regret it when I see the final dollar figure
