    Another thought;

    Mine also has the 3 screws through the dash, but I always thought that was something that was done later in it's life so re-secure it.

    Does anyone else have a '68 with screws in the dash?

            replacement ?

            .....so where's the '71/72 Metallic Gold with light beige replacement ??

            Now that's a combo in a RHD car I'd love to see......

            Great original letter BTW.

                    Yes one of the Porsche movement's gentlemen.

                    Does his family still have the 356 Cabriolet ... he bought the car as a new uni graduate I believe and this was his daily drive for a number of years?

                    Plus I don't think you've known DB long enough to ping him on his unique dress sense!

                        going to Michel's point about the sugar scoops, this is a picture of 11820924 when it was for sale a few years ago. At the time it was a one owner car in the same Melbourne family since it was purchased new from Hamilton's in 1968 (and at that time for sale at the outrageous price of $35K )

                        it was also advertised as never have been repainted

                        I dont know of any other cars delivered like this but i have not seen any other that are supposed to be so original after all this time

                          Absolutely a very nice car, don't get me wrong, but I just don't understand what makes it so special to be asking THAT price?

                              the car is THAT special - As for pricing that's the outcome of proper discussion

                              The amount listed was so Clyde wouldn't spank me ...P.S re: pricing and to maintain forum etiquette $196,800.00

                                If you think about it - 12 months ago the value of the AU$/Pacific Peso was at least 30% higher, so the price/value of the car was essentially sustained for an overseas buyer.

                                Is the car is a comparative international bargain here?
