This looks like a ridiculously good deal, particularly as it's now advertised at $29K. As a 77 I think it can still be registered as a LHD no problem. And having built an RS replica, there is no way to screw one together yourself for anywhere near this money.

      Thanks Ryan

The car sounds like a great little all rounder. It all helps clarify what I want to end up with particularly given that most of my research to date has been from various mags. Motoring journos tend to regard most high performance 2 litre cars as manic track specials and don't comment on their real world ability so I appreciate the comments of an Aus owner.

      Cheers

Jeff, a 2.0 is quite a flexible motor, and really depends on the cams and port size on how driveable it is in the lower rpm range. They certainly don't have the low down torque of a 2.4 or 2.7, but by now means does this make them undriveable as a daily communter. I know my 2.0S is easy to drive in traffic, has standard S cams, standard S gearing, and still is a hellava lot of fun on the track. The only thing that has made my car a little annoying in traffic is the noise, as the exhaust and lack of sound proofing has led to it being noisy inside! Ah well, 'dem the breaks!

                Thanks Ryan

I'll actually be in Sydney between Nov 8 and 12 and would love to catch up. I'm staying in Newtown but will be around inner eastern suburbs at times, I note from an earlier thread that you appear to be based close to the CBD?

I think the ebay project is a bit more than I want to tackle at the moment, thanks for the tip anyway.
