SOLD to Tim
Due to a change in direction about how I am setting up the headlights, and lighting in general in my car, I am offering up a number of headlight related items that are now surplus to my requirements.
the major items (full details below) are:
two RHD Marchal Amplilux 7 inch headlights for $600 for the pair (plus postage)
two SWB Hella SB19 20 21 headlight buckets including the glass, new rims seals etc for $500 for the pair (plus postage)
Although I would sell all as a complete headlight set for $1000.(plus postage)
This headlight setup was used in period for 911 rally cars and for many 911 entrants for the le mans 24 hour race and similar. These, using either the Amplilux units or the carrello Biodes depending on sponsors, were the lighting units to have and can be set up to have 70w low beam and 130 w high beam (which on the Amplilux is effectively a driving light) giving as much lighting power as you would get with the CIBIE hood lights alongside regular headlights. (The Amplilux's were also used on the BDA Escort rally cars of the time)
The amplilux units (code 612 830 03 for RHD) are used but have excellent lenses etc. The only blemish on them is that all the mounting tabs have been cut back, as can be seen in the first picture (probably to fit some other application - otherwise i would be asking much more for them). This does not prevent them from being mounted properly but it does make it a bit trickier. They have also been wired with a modern connecting plug, the other part of which can be attached to the wiring inside the 911 headlight bucket so that they can be swapped in and out with your normal lights if required. (see photo 3)
the SWB Hella SB19 20 21 headlight units have been water blasted and painted in a silver/ grey color close to original and have been rebuilt with new (reproduction) chrome trims from auto foreign services (Eric Linden) in the USA, new gaskets etc, and old SB19 20 21 clear headlight lenses.
One of the headlight lenses has raised scrip on the outside and very light pitting - its code (for those into date coding) is 28-60370-03 and the other one is also an older one but does not have any pitting) but has the scrip on the inside and is coded 032-60370-03. (I understand that the newest reproductions of these do not have any such coding)
see photos 4 5 and 6 for the buckets
the rest of the photos show the ampliluxes mounted in the headlight buckets.
I also have a number of other parts - chrome trims both new and used as well as older (and more sandblasted lenses) that i will list separately
