    2.2 911T Coupe preparing for sale at CRT

    Dave at Classic Road and Track is currently preparing an Aussie delivered 911T for sale and we would like to give everyone on the Typ901 site a head start before it is listed on Car Sales next week.

    Chassis No. 911100060;
    Engine No. 6119018, matching.

    Options:
    • 1111 light ivory;
    • (22) Brown leatherette and cord interior; It has genuine Recaro sports seats, but we can't verify that they have been in the car since new;
    • (C14) Australian Spec;
    • (975) 5.5 x 14 'light metal forged wheels', now fitted with 6.15 Genuine Fuchs;
    • Manufactured on 1st July 1970 which means 1971 model year;
    It was originally delivered new through Hamiltons in Melbourne and in the late 70's went to Adelaide and was bought by the last owner in '88 when he had it shipped to Perth where it remained in his ownership for 27 years.

    It has had a Chellingworth Porsche engine rebuild in May 2014 and drives beautifully, the Sporto being incredibly smooth. We have a history file dating back to the late 70's, the original 2.2 Owners Manual but unfortunately, no original service manual.

    The body has really nice gaps and beautiful original rust free floors. There is evidence of professional rust proofing, probably from very early, if not new. Dave hasn't had time to do the 'Clyde toothbrush' detail which we will leave for the new owner.

    It is fitted with non-factory air which is currently not working, this could be recommissioned or removed.

    An early 911 with this heritage, Australian delivered, matching numbers and in very good original condition is VERY HARD to find.

    $145,000, currently registered in WA but would be sold unregistered to any other interstate purchaser.

    The car can be inspected at CRT in North Melbourne, only serious enquiries please, Mark.

    Nice. GLWS

    I have a correct set of 14x5.5 fuchs which I would consider swapping for the 15x6 now on there - just to ensure correctness

        Interestingly one of the first Hamiltons delivered Sporto's that I've seen without the S appearance package.......

        Great looking car.

            Great looking car. Not that it really matters, but out of curiosity, why would it have an MPH speedo when it's an Aus delivered 1971 car? Anyone else got MPH speedos on there Aus delivered cars?

              I noticed that too Scotty, and wondered ...

              What year did we change to Km/Hr? The best I can find is we passed the Bill re metrics in 1970 but changed to km/hr in 1974.

                Kph speedos mandated in 1974.

                I have kept my original MPH speedo, but located a correct '69 KPH unit from an Italian delivered car - it does make driving in the highly regulated times easier...

                        My aust delivered 73 has a mph speedo . It is still in the car. I don't have any issues about using it even in nanny state Vic where 3kph over is an offense. I use the tachometer to work out my speed and find it much more accurate

                          My old Rx2 had a broken speedo so the tacho was fine to use as a alternative.

                              Front licence plate needs straightening. Only kidding. Great car. What's the sports like to drive?
